About The GalleryThe Roma on Bungil Gallery opened in June 2008 and is the culmination of the dream of local artists. Over the past 19 years through the Annual Easter Art Show, the Maranoa Artists have raised an amazing $95,000 towards the project with the support of local business sponsors and groups such as the Roma branch of the Queensland Arts Council.

The Gallery is housed in the excellent Roma Community Arts Centre; an initiative of the former Roma Town Council, supported by Government funding and a substantial contribution from the then Bungil Shire Council. The Centre, near the Roma CBD, also houses the Roma Town Library and studio spaces for local groups.

The Gallery Management Committee oversees the running of the Gallery with the help of the volunteer Friends of the Gallery.

We seek to promote Art in all its forms with a program encompassing a variety of local and visiting exhibitors and, where possible, exhibitions of particular interest to students and school children such as the highly successful Ministers Award for Excellence in November 2008. Our spacious Gallery allows us to host annual touring exhibitions from State and National Galleries, which enhance the artistic experience of the regional communities.
