Betty Searle

Spending her earliest years on a rural property in the district of Roma, Queensland, Betty’s

appreciation and mastery of the special tones and colours of the landscape developed during

this time. Working mainly in oils, Betty’s underpainting of pure colours produces a vitality on the

different surfaces with which she works. Betty’s success as a regional artist has seen her win

many awards throughout the state. Her work is retained both in private and public collections,

with her early work Pear Clearing being recently included in a Western Downs Regional Council

Lisa West

Growing up in regional Queensland, Lisa now lives in Brisbane with her family. She has been

painting since the birth of her first child, eighteen years ago. Her chosen media are oils and

acrylics, painting both representational and non-representational works. Lisa has always been

interested in colour and forms, citing her mother Betty as an important inspiration for her

painting.
